Serving Sterling for nearly eight years, with a lifetime warranty on all window tint — honoured at any Tint World in the nation.
Luxury dealerships across the DMV send their cars to us, and every customer gets that same standard — the family SUV, a brand-new EV, or something exotic.
Every tint package we offer uses XPEL PRIME window film, and every paint protection install is XPEL PPF. XPEL is the industry leader in paint protection film, and the brand dealerships and exotic owners ask for by name.
Want to feel it for yourself? Our showroom has a heat display where you can compare the films side by side.
Ceramic film rejects infrared heat, so a lighter shade can cool the cabin more than a dark cheap film ever will.
Dyed film fades and lifts within a few summers. Ceramic holds its colour and stays flat for the life of the car.
Every piece of film is computer-cut for your year, make and model, so it fits edge to edge.
Four levels of XPEL PRIME film, all carrying The Skin Cancer Foundation's Seal of Recommendation. Call and we'll help you pick.
XPEL PRIME CS · Color Stable
XPEL PRIME HP · 2-ply metalized
XPEL PRIME XR Black · Ceramic
XPEL PRIME XR Plus · Ceramic
Heat rejection is total solar energy rejected and varies by shade; figures are XPEL's published maximums. Infrared rejection per XPEL at 1025nm.
All of it done here in Sterling.
VLT is how much light gets through the film and glass together. A higher number is a lighter tint. These are the limits for passenger cars.
| Front sides | Rear sides | Rear glass | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Virginia | 50% VLT | 35% VLT | 35% VLT |
| Maryland | 35% VLT | 35% VLT | 35% VLT |
| Washington DC | 70% VLT | 50% VLT | 50% VLT |
SUVs, vans and pickups get more latitude behind the driver: Virginia and Maryland allow any darkness on the rear side windows and rear glass of a multipurpose vehicle with dual side mirrors. DC still limits those windows to 35%. All three allow non-reflective film on the windshield above the AS-1 line or the top five inches, whichever is less, and all three cap reflectivity. Limits are measured on the finished window, film plus factory glass together. Verify current limits with the relevant DMV before choosing a shade.
Year, make, model and what you want done. In most cases you'll get an estimate on tint right on that call.
We hold a bay and tell you exactly how long we need the car.
Most sedans and midsize SUVs are about two hours. Your service advisor will give you the exact time.
We go over the finished work with you before you take the keys.
Two front windows: about 1 hour. Coupes, sedans and midsize SUVs: about 2 hours. Third-row SUVs: 2.5 to 3 hours. Certain vehicles take longer than others, so ask your service advisor for the time on yours.
All window tint we install carries a lifetime warranty. We register it for you, so there's no paperwork on your end, and it's serviced at any Tint World location in the nation. Paint protection film is covered by its own manufacturer warranty — ask us for the terms on your install.
Yes. Removal is an additional charge, and we need to see the car in person to quote it. How the old film was installed and how long it's been on make a real difference to the labour, so a sight-unseen number would be a guess.
What you're seeing is factory privacy glass — the glass itself is darkened. It cuts visible light, but it does very little to block heat, and it lets through far more UV than quality film, which blocks up to 99%. Tinting over it is what actually keeps the back rows cooler and protects passengers and upholstery.
Virginia lets drivers with a qualifying medical condition run darker film, down to 35% on the side windows, through a DMV authorization. You submit form MED-20 with a statement from a licensed physician or optometrist. Front windshield tint is checked at the annual safety inspection, so have the paperwork sorted before yours comes due. We'll hand you the MED-20 form at checkout.
